Collab #4 – Styling Ankara with blogger babe Bukky

Collab #4 – Styling Ankara with blogger babe Bukky

Hey lovlies,

currently listening to “beneath your beautiful” by labrinth and Emeli sande…

Trust your week is going well? Mine is a bit engaging, am traveling back to school to prep for my final semester 💃🏻 . Thank you guys for the love on my blog’s anniversary 😘 I really appreciate.

You know I am really glad that am learning how to be consistent on the blog, my 4 post per month, one collaboration inclusive seems to be going well. So Bukky and I have been looking forward to this collaboration since last year, “that far? Yea I know!” You see our different schedules was our biggest challenge and it just seemed almost impossible for us to get a convenient time for both of us. For those of you who might be wondering who bukky is she is my blogger friend and the gorgeous style blogger behind pages by bukky (Her Blog if you read my last post, you’ll remember I mentioned her…

About our style collaboration:

Our theme was African print, we wanted to style Ankara. We wanted it to be full of colors and Afrocentrism. It wasn’t my kind of style, but I was willing to Explore so we went in search of location, looking for somewhere that had a touch of art and colours and we got The Elegushi Art and Craft Market. I had fun during the shoot with Bukky and James of @ordinaryandart Photography, James had so much humor and he made us laff… A big shout out to James for collaborating with us on this 🙏 trust me we highly appreciate.

What am I wearing?

When we found our location and Photographer, I had no idea of what I was going to wear, I was home in Lagos for the semester break, and Bukky had just finished her house Job so her schedule was a bit flexible , there was no better period than doing it before I go back to school. I had limited clothes not to talk of Ankara … Ada ooo! The only piece that managed to save my life was my ankara pants I got from Victoria Charles (@victoriacharles_ng). I looked for something chic to pair it with and my blue embellished neckline top I got from Imagine  (@stylebyimagine) won. Minimal jewelry and I threw on some vintage glasses from Vintage 101 (@vintage101shop) to pop that look. 😎how bah dah? My blonde bob wig is from Total shop wigs (@totalshopwigs)

Bukky’s style…

We met online, we became friends. I loved her style, chic, versatile and oh well! effortless. I felt she had a bit of my style. I was always dreaming of a collabo with her, I said to tell her one day but procrastination won when she suggested a collaboration. Am like “girl you know we sisturrs because I had it on ma mind too”  I admire her willingness to teach me new things and open up to me when we share our challenges in the blogosphere and life in general.

I’d love to know your thoughts on the ankara theme, did you think we nailed it or not?
